Recently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down with Oprah to air their grievances with the British Royal Family, which they recently left. Now, the Palace is taking a look at claims that Markle bullied employees before she departed the Palace for good.
Is Meghan Markle A Bully?
Just before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could state their case against the British Royal family in the now-famous interview by HARPO Productions and CBS, Buckingham Palace announced that the former Duchess of Sussex has been bullying the employees to the point of quitting, per the words of their best advisor. Now, the Palace will investigate.
“We are clearly very concerned about allegations in The Times following claims made by former staff of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” the Palace said in a statement after The Times first reported the news. “Accordingly, our HR team will look into the circumstances outlined in the article. Members of staff involved at the time, including those who have left the Household, will be invited to participate to see if lessons can be learned…The Royal Household has had a Dignity at Work policy in place for a number of years and does not and will not tolerate bullying or harassment in the workplace.”
But why did that surface now? Well, according to the Palace, it’s because they were recently brought to their attention and confirmed. However, others think they are simply inflating overblown concerns to try and make the British Royal Family look better in the wake of Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview…
Responding To Those She “Bullied”
After Prince Harry and Markle learned of the news, they immediately had their spokesperson released a statement. “The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma,” the statement read. “She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.”
In the interview with Oprah, Markle made it clear that she did think there was a chance that the British Royal Family would retaliate. However, she said she simply could not stay silent anymore, accusing them of racism and terrible treatment. In fact, the former TV actress said she contemplated suicide due to the family’s cruel words.
“How do you feel about the palace hearing you speak your truth today?” Winfrey, 67, asked the Duchess. “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” she responded, talking about the Royal Family. “And if that comes with risk of losing things, I mean I — there’s a lot that’s been lost already.”
Only time will tell if the British Royal Family, Markle, and Harry can repair the breakdown of their relationship, or if this will become another Princess Diana situation…
