Priyanka Chopra Dropped The Jonas Name
In a recent interview with the magazine Vanity Fair, actress Priyanka Chopra talked about the fact that she decided to drop the Jonas name from her Instagram on “random Monday in November.” Of course, immediately, many fans worldwide speculated that the Chopra-Jonas marriage was in trouble. However, according to the Quantico star wants to make it clear: their marriage is as rock-solid as ever. In Chopra’s eyes, this is just a perfect example of the fervent watchdog culture that celebrities find themselves under in the current, digital era.
“It’s a very vulnerable feeling, actually, that if I post a picture, everything that’s behind me in that picture is going to be zoomed in on, and people are going to speculate,” Chopra explained to Vanity Fair. “It’s just a professional hazard … Because of the noise of our social media, because of the prevalence that it has in our lives, I think it seems a lot larger than it is. I think that we give it a lot more credence in real life, and I don’t think it needs that.”
“We both know that public life is something that comes with what we do,” Jonas recently said in another interview. “But we’ve set real boundaries around our personal lives, our privacy, and worked really hard to create that little safe haven for ourselves with our friends and family.”
Thankfully, fans don’t have to worry about the pair splitting up anytime soon. However, this is far from the first time that Chopra has found herself under massive public scrutiny…
Just Another Issue
You might remember that, a little over a year ago, Chopra – along with fellow stars Usher and Julianne Hough – received some serious criticism for her role in the proposed television show The Activist. For those who missed the news, many claimed that the show did little more than force activists to compete with one another in order to bring their causes to a wider audience. According to Chopra, while she agrees that The Activist might have gotten some things wrong, she’s sad that it likely will never see the light of day…
“It’s really tragic when something like that happens because that is never the intention,” Chopra explained to Vanity Fair. “It makes me sad because I try to live my life as a good person every day, doing the best I can, just like everyone else. And it would just be nice to be seen for that sometimes.”
So what’s next for Priyanka Chopra? Well, she’s set to appear in at least two films over the next few years, Text for You and Cowboy Ninja Viking. Meanwhile the actress also told Vanity Fair that she also wants to have children with Jonas. “They’re a big part of our desire for the future,” she said. “By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.”
